Current Status

January 2010

This month, the GEMS team is in full swing of the DEPLOY phase. In this phase, the web-based system is being enabled in all R2A (Release 2A) sites where all HR Users and Self Services Users working in the Prime Minister's Office (including Energy Division) and its five departments will be able to access all online functionalities of GEMS.

On 'Go-Live' Day (28th January 2010), the entire Change Network and Trainer members will join forces with the GEMS Roving Team to tour around all GEMS enabled sites ensuring that HR Users will be able to access and use GEMS smoothly.

 

 

 

 

 

Project History for Release 2

 

December 2009 to January 2010
  • GEMS team completes TEST phase and enters DEPLOY phase
  • Modules to be deployed are revisited and tuned to performance precision
  • Deployment plan developed and execution in progress
  • End User Training workshops completed
October to November 2009
  • GEMS team is in the final phase of TEST stage
  • UAT (User Acceptance Test) is being conducted to ensure that all system components are working according to the agreed requirements.
  • Training materials were developed and being finalized
  • Preparation for training in progress
September 2009
  • GEMS team enters the TEST stage where all system components are being tested.
  • Components satisfying test requirements are escalated for User Acceptance Testing.
  • Training materials for Release 2 are being finalized.
July to August 2009
  • GEMS team is in mid-way of the BUILD stage
  • Different components of GEMS under development and customization
  • Default settings of how the system operates will be configured
  • New Change Champions and Agents from Public Service Department (PSD) and other line departments have been appointed

 

June 2009
  • The GEMS team enters the BUILD phase for R2 (Release 2).
  • Core HR processes that was thoroughly analyzed and carefully designed will be used as a guideline to build the GEMS modules for Release 2.
May 2009
  • Release 2 modules are reaching the end of DESIGN phase
  • Standard configuration, customized components and overall technical architecture are structured in GEMS.
  • Designs will be used as guidelines to build rest of functional modules for GEMS Release 2

 

 

 

 


 

Project History for Release 1

 

April 2009

  • GEMS Implementation Team was geared to DEPLOY the web-based application to all R1 (Release 1) sites
  • GEMS made available to all HR Users and Self-Service Users working in PMO (including Energy Division) and it five PMO departments
  • On Go-Live Day (16th April 2009), local Change Agents was announcing the arrival of GEMS in their respective department or ministry
  • All HR Users were able to log into GEMS, view and validate their personal information and most importantly, use their new skills received in the training workshop 
March 2009
  • The GEMS team has completed the TEST stage
  • All system components have undergone thorough testing against default configuration settings
  • All application components working according to design requirements
  • HR Users for R1 (Release 1) have been identified and mapped to specific roles in GEMS
  • HR User Mass Briefing event successfully conducted
  • Training Workshops are being conducted

 

January to February 2009

  • GEMS team entered the BUILD phase
  • GEMS components were developed and customized
  • Default settings on how the system operates were configured
  • Prospective HR Users for GEMS in R1 has been identified

December 2008

 

  • The GEMS Information Website was officially launched.

  • The first inaugural newsletter GEMS Connect was distributed.

  • All Human Resource related work processes have been successfully captured.

  • Designs of future processes have been completed.

November 2008

  • The GEMS Change Management team has nominated the Change Network Agents from Release 1 PMO Departments

  • Working closely with PMO, the GEMS Application Team has captured all Human Resource related work processes.
